A 40-year-old woman was arrested after a physical altercation with another woman at People’s Park Complex in Singapore’s Chinatown district.
Videos circulating on social media on 16 July showed the two women involved in a confrontation inside the building, with one woman later seen being escorted away by six police officers.
The footage showed the two women initially engaged in a verbal dispute before the confrontation escalated into a physical fight, with both women seen grappling and falling to the ground as bystanders watched.
Police respond to incident
According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF), officers received a call for assistance at 7.25pm on 15 July at 1 Park Road, the address of People’s Park Complex.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested for public nuisance, while another woman, aged 53, was taken to hospital in a conscious state.
Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Viral footage shows confrontation
In the videos shared online, one woman wearing black clothing was seen confronting another woman in a corridor area of the building.
The two women were initially involved in a verbal exchange before the situation became physical.
Subsequent footage showed one woman on top of the other during the struggle, while people nearby watched without intervening.
A separate clip showed the woman who was involved in the fight later walking out of the building accompanied by police officers.
Previous incident at same location
The incident occurred about two weeks after another violent altercation was reported at the same building.
On 2 July 2026, two people were taken to Singapore General Hospital following a confrontation involving a man and two women inside a massage parlour at People’s Park Complex.
Videos from that incident showed those involved exchanging punches, kicks and grappling inside the premises before police and paramedics arrived.
The Singapore Police Force confirmed at the time that investigations were ongoing.
The latest incident is being investigated separately.
